The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Sunday, March 1, the Mad Hatter’s Tea party was held by members of Sts. Martha and Mary as a fund raiser to establish a library collection for Holy Spirit School in Tela, Honduras, our companion diocese. Holy Spirit School has 250 students ages four years to eleventh grade. At present there is no library building, but a delegation from this diocese will be helping to build one in June. Several hundred dollars have been raised in addition to more that fourteen boxes of books that have been donated. A collection of antique hats for sale by the Clark Museum of Eureka. A chance to try on and buy hats added to the excitement and fun of the party.

Saints Martha and Mary Parochial Mission

In May 2006 the "Trinidad Preaching Station" was designated by the Right Reverend Jerry Lamb as an official Parochial Mission of Christ Christ Church and was given the name of Saints Mary and Martha..

On September 24th, Trinidad worshipers and guests from all over California processed behind an artist-designed banner up Trinidad Head to the historic cross where prayers were said for the new mission. A service of Holy Eucharist and reception followed.
The congregation meets in the historic Holy Trinity Catholic Church on a bluff overlooking Trinidad Harbor. Sts. Martha & Mary has an active schedule with either Holy Eucharist or Morning Prayer every Sunday at 9:30 am, silent prayer at noon on Mondays, and a Taize service every third Thursday of the month. A wonderful mixture of clergy and lay people make all this happen.

Trinidad California is a small scenic harbor town about a half hour north of Eureka via Highway 101.
